As all of you know, we are all very excited for the hall to start operations. The question I get asked the most is “When will the hall be operating?” While I would love to give a definitive answer, the truth is it is hard to tell. Our projections are sometime between Sep-Oct 2017. This will depend on city approving the upgraded new permits and the operators moving diligently on their aspect of the project. Since we have completed our part, the rest is slightly out of our hands. What I can tell you is that we are close to receiving the temporary certificate of occupancy for the office and small synagogue areas. Once received we will move offices and eliminate the front trailer and pave front parking area.
We are also waiting for the allocation of funds from the Department of Homeland Security to complete the separation wall on the complete west side of our premises. This will improve our security overall. I would like to thank Michael Pool who is already working hard on our behalf to complete the new application for this year.
The Bet Midrash is running as of now and we are very excited and satisfied with the level of participation from our members. This area is also being used for smaller catering events as well. I toured recently our Mikveh installations, they are beautiful and luxurious. I hope to have further information soon on opening day. Preparations for the high holidays are on their way.
Furthermore, we are very excited to be offering for the first time internationally acclaimed Cantor Avi Perets. He will be at our premises for Rosh Hashana and at the hotel for Yom Kippur services. Since there will be limited seating, I encourage you to reserve your seats or rooms as soon as you receive reservation forms. We will be working on an updated contact information system on our website. We would like to make it easier for our members to reach out to the leadership with suggestions and comments.
